Report on the successful event on Saturday 21st July 2018.
The Lancashire Commandery in the Grand Priory of Great Britain Malta and Gibraltar had the great privilege of holding an Investiture in the Council Chambers of the offices of the Lancashire district council. A splendid historical chamber made even more memorable because of the attendence of Coun. Andrew Kay his Worshipful Mayor and his Consort.
A magnificent venue with HE the Grand Chancellor of Europe Chev. Alexander Graff de Pancsova and HE the Grand Prior of GB Malta and Gibraltar Chev. Lawrence Day and Priory Secretary General Dame Diana Causton to invest a young energetic and sympathetic postulant Cory Harrison.
Following the service our grand gala dinner took place in the Mayor´s Reception Parlor with the Mayor and his Consort as honored guests. During the evening the Mayor having been in the caring profession himself, spoke to those present about the importance of the ethos and ethics relating to the work that our Order undertakes.
In Lancaster he has offered his help to our noble and chivalric order. The Grand Prior said how proud he was to have been present in such surroundings and congratulated the Lancashire Commander and Commandery on a very successful event. The Grand Chancellor for Europe, representing HE the Grandmaster indicated how important it is to have young people like Corey joining the order and how important it is to give, rather than receive which is the motto of St. Stanislas. He also said that it is imperative that our order is not all about money, but of promoting charity, compassion and love for one’s fellow mankind and to give holistic care in all circumstances is often more important than to give money.
The Grandprior was very pleased that the raffle raised £ 145 which was donated on the evening to the representatives present of the Sea Cadet Corps, who work with young people to improve their devolpement, selfesteem and character building. We thank our guests who came from other Commanderies like Wales, Essex, London and our other guests from Lancashire, Scotland and Cumbria for their support.
Die Komturei Lancashire, im Großpriorat von Großbritannien, Malta und Gibraltar hatten das große Privileg, eine Investitur in den Ratsräumen der Büros des Lancashire-Bezirksrats zu halten. Ein herrlicher historischer Saal, der durch die Anwesenheit des es Bürgermeisters Andrew Kay noch einprägsamer wurde. Was für ein toller Ort für eine Investitur.
S.E. der Großkanzler von Europa Chev. Dr. Alexander Graff de Pancsova und S.E. der Großprior von Gorßbritannien, Malta und Gibraltar, Chev. Lawrence Day und Priory Secretary Dame Diana Causton leiteten diese.
Im Anschluss an den Gottesdienst fand unser großes Galadinner im Empfangssalon des Bürgermeisters mit dem Bürgermeister und seiner Gemahlin als Ehrengäste statt. Während des Abends sprach der Bürgermeister, der selbst fürsorglich und ehrenamtlich gearbeitet hatte, mit den Anwesenden über die Bedeutung des Ethos und der Ethik in Bezug auf die Arbeit, die unser Orden unternimmt.
Für die Komturei Lancaster hat er uns seine Unterstützung angeboten. Der Großprior sagte, wie stolz er sei, in einer solchen Umgebung anwesend zu sein, und gratulierte dem Lancashire Commander und Commandery zu einer sehr erfolgreichen Veranstaltung. Der Großkanzler für Europa erwähnte wie wichtig es ist, dass junge Leute wie Corey dem Orden beitreten und wie wichtig es ist, zu geben. Er sagte auch, dass es in unserem Orden nicht unbedingt um Geld geht, sondern darum, Nächstenliebe, Mitgefühl und Liebe für die Mitmenschen zu fördern und ganzheitliche Pflege unter allen Umständen zu geben, was oft wichtiger ist als Geld zu geben.
Der Großprior war sehr erfreut, dass die Tombola einige hundert Pfund brachte. Den Erlös erhielten am Abend an die anwesenden Repräsentanten des Sea Cadet Corps, die mit Jugendlichen arbeiten, um ihre Entwicklung, ihr Selbstbewusstsein und ihren Charakteraufbau und zu verbessern. Wir danken unseren Ehrengästen und unseren Mitgliedern aus unseren Komtureien Wales, Essex, London sowie bei unseren Gästen aus Lancashire, Schottland und Cumbria für ihre Unterstützung.
